Ultra-thin and yet refined, the Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 5120J oozes of understated class. A solid 18ct yellow gold case adorned with ‘Clous de Paris’ engraved pattern on the bezel, which is a nod to the earlier generation of Calatrava’s, the ref. 3919. The white opaline dial offers printed roman numerals and the lack of a second’s hand, which leads to a subtle and aesthetically pleasing look. The star of the show becomes visible when flipping the watch over, and the open sapphire case back reveals the highly regarded cal. 240 micro-rotor movement, making the watch a mere 6.5mm thin in total.
